South Jersey Healthcare offers a broad range of outpatient mental health services. Whether a client needs short-term counseling for a difficult emotional issue or intensive therapy to avoid hospitalization, SJH Behavioral Health Services provide programs for all ages and all income levels, including pastoral care. All of our services operate under the charity care policy of South Jersey Healthcare. In addition to our sliding scales, we accept Medicare, Medicaid and many insurance programs.
 
Comprehensive Therapy Programs
SJH Behavioral Wellness Center provides a full range of counseling and psychiatric services to families, couples, groups and individuals, regardless of their ability to pay.
 
Our staff help clients overcome the following conditions and life experiences:

  • The Intensive Outpatient Program – SJH Bridgeton Health Center. The program offers the flexibility for clients to attend specialized day, evening or Saturday group therapy programs. Typically, individuals attend three hours per day, two or three times per week.

  • Child and Adolescent Partial Care Programs – SJH Bridgeton Health Center and SJH Elmer Hospital. Our holistic approach to child and adolescent mental health helps 6 to 17 year-olds find better pathways to healthy development. Our staff work with teachers, school social workers and nurses, physicians, outpatient therapists, case managers, religious representatives and others to establish treatment goals for our clients. We address the far-reaching concerns of every client and their most important system: their family.

    Child and Adolescent Partial Care programs are available at SJH Bridgeton Health Center. The programs operate from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the school year and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the summer months. Free transportation is provided.
    Program Guidelines 

  • Adult Partial Care Program – This intensive outpatient behavioral health treatment program assists individuals experiencing a period of significant emotional stress. The program is designed for people with symptoms that seriously impact their daily functioning, who are hoping to avoid hospitalization or have been discharged from inpatient treatment.

    The Adult Partial Care Program is available to individuals, ages 18 and older, for a period of approximately two to three weeks on week days from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free transportation is available for Cumberland County residents.
