Hospital Community Meeting Dates Now Available on DHSS Web Site
The state Department of Health and Senior Services’ hospital community meeting Web page is now available, listing the dates and locations for hospitals’ state-mandated annual meetings with community members.
Hospitals are required to share their meeting information with the state for inclusion on the Web page at least 30 days prior to their meeting dates. Under the state law passed last year, hospitals have until Dec. 31 to hold their first meeting and will be required to hold community meetings annually thereafter.
Hospitals are asked to designate an internal contact person and share that information with DHSS Webmaster Janet Varan at janet.varan@doh.state.nj.us. Required information for posting on the DHSS Web site includes meeting date and time, a hospital contact name and phone number to share with the public, the hospital’s Web site address and the meeting location, complete with building name, address, municipality and county.
NJHA distributed a meeting toolkit to members in December to help them prepare for these sessions. E-mail NJHA’s Marion O’Reilly at moreilly@njha.com to receive a copy. NJHA will update the resources in the coming weeks when additional state budget information becomes available.
