How can the SJH Wound Care Center help you?

Millions of Americans suffer from chronic wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation or other conditions which can slow the body’s healing process. If you have a wound that is not significantly better in a month, or healed entirely in two months, you should ask your doctor about the South Jersey Healthcare Wound Care Center.

The new facility provides friendly, professional care for patients in need of specialized treatment for wounds resulting from diabetes, vascular disease, infection, unrelieved pressure or other conditions. Patients with diabetic ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers or vasculitic ulcers will find expert care at the SJH Wound Care Center.

Specializing in healing chronic wounds

Our team of expert physicians and nurses treat wounds that have resisted healing after months or even years of traditional treatment. In fact, many patients are completely healed in just a short time after visiting a wound center.

The brand new SJH Wound Care Center is staffed by wound-certified physicians with years of experience treating all types of chronic wounds. Our comprehensive wound care team includes physicians, nurses, therapists, diabetic educators, and clinical dieticians.

A healing program for the whole patient

When you first visit the SJH Wound Care center our physicians will evaluate your wound, your general health and your medical history. Using lab work and diagnostic imaging, our staff will identify the causes of your wound, such as pressure, poor circulation or diabetes.

After your initial assessment, the Center’s multidisciplinary team will create a treatment plan based on your specific needs. By developing individual care plans for every patient, our physicians not only treat wounds, but also identify the causes of them.

Removal of unhealthy tissue, advanced wound dressings, nutrition counseling, education and prevention, and physical therapy are just some of the treatments used to promote healing. The SJH Wound Care Center staff can also provide surgical wound debridements in the center and surgical interventions when needed, can also be performed at SJH Elmer Hospital.

How will the SJH Wound Care Center work with my doctor?

The SJH Wound Care Center collaborates with your primary physician, just like any other medical specialist. Our team will discuss your treatment program with your doctor and provide updates on your progress.
