Robert D’Angel is in-house counsel. He most previously served as in-house counsel for Memorial Health Alliance, now part of Virtua Health.
Mr. D’Angel earned a bachelor’s degree in History from St. Joseph's University and his law degree from Villanova Law School.
John Bickings
Chief Operating Officer
SJH Elmer Hospital and
Corporate Vice President of Support Services
John Bickings is the Chief Operating Officer of SJH Elmer Hospital and Vice President of Support Services. He previously served as the director of Facilities and Engineering for SJH.
Mr. Bickings earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
A. James Boote
Vice President for Ambulatory Care
A. James Boote, Vice President for Ambulatory Care, joined SJH in February 2008. Prior to joining SJH, he served as the Interim CEO of Laurens County HealthCare System, a 90 bed hospital in Clinton South Carolina. He was also an adjunct professor teaching health care financial management at Lander University in Greenwood South Carolina.
Mr. Boote received his master’s degree from Duke University in Health Care Management in 1977. He earned his bachelors degree from Toledo University in 1975.
John A. DiAngelo

of Finance & CFO
John A. DiAngelo, C.P.A., is the Senior Vice President of Finance and chief financial officer. He previously served as vice president of Planning and Network Development for Virtua Health System in Marlton, N.J.
Mr. DiAngelo earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Widener University.
Erich Florentine
Chief People Officer for South Jersey Healthcare
Erich Florentine is Chief People Officer for South Jersey Healthcare . He previously served as the vice president of Operations Improvement for Virtua Health.
Mr. Florentine earned a B.S. in Personnel Administration and Labor Relations from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Carolyn Heckman is the VP of Community and Government Relations and the Executive Director of the SJH Foundation. Ms. Heckman previously served as vice president and area manager, Hudson United Bank, Cumberland and Salem counties.
Ms. Heckman earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Pilgrim College now known as Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina.
Clare Sapienza-Eck
Vice President Business Development
and Physician Services
Clare Sapienza-Eck is Vice President of Business Development and Physician Services. She previously served as the director of Planning for SJH/NMC.
Mrs. Sapienza-Eck earned a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania and master’s degrees in Health Care Administration and Health Care Finance from Temple University.
Wayne Schiffner
SJH Executive Vice President
Wayne Schiffner is the SJH Executive Vice President. Mr. Schiffner has worked as a hospital administrator for 20 years, having served as president and CEO of Dover General Hospital/ Medical Center for 15 years and executive vice president for Northwest Covenant in northwest New Jersey hospitals.
Mr. Schiffner earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Cornell University and a master’s in Secondary Education from Trenton State College. He also earned a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Administration from George Washington University.
Elizabeth Sheridan, FACHE, MA,
Chief Operating Officer of the Regional Medical Center and Corporate Chief Nursing Executive
RN, CNAA-BC is the Chief Operating Officer of SJH Regional Medical Center and the SJH System Chief Nursing Executive . Mrs. Sheridan previously served as the vice president of Patient Care Services for JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J.
Mrs. Sheridan earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Trenton State College, a master’s degree in Administration from Rider College and completed the Wharton Fellows Program for Senior Health-Care Executives at the University of Pennsylvania. |
