The Occupational Therapy Hand Center offers a multi-disciplinary approach and state-of-the-art equipment. Under the direction of a Certified Hand Therapist, the Hand Program allows patients to restore optimum use, strength and motion, while limiting pain and edema.

 

Kids RehabCare Program—Watching your childgrow is an amazing process. However, some children are challenged by injuries, illnesses or birthdefects. SJH Kids RehabCare helps families in ourregion by treating and managing pediatric disorderslike brachial plexus injuries, cerebral palsy, autismand developmental delays.

 

Our newly renovated pediatric treatment center isnow available to better serve our growingpopulation. This clinic includes a sensory darkroom, equipment for vestibular and gross motor treatment, and an adolescent computer training room. The facility is designed for individualized, private treatment, as well as group therapy.

 

In addition, SJH Kids RehabCare Aquatic Therapy Program uses a warm water environment to facilitate muscle relaxation, tone reduction, and pain control. Children are motivated by this fun and comforting environment, and often achieve better results than with traditional “land” therapy alone. Children may begin this program at 3 months of age.

The Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Program will help you recognize and rehabilitate disorders affecting your ability to communicate successfully. Our expert staff of licensed Speech- Language Pathologists and Audiologists offer a wide variety of treatments to address aural rehabilitation, voice and rhythm disorders, stroke rehabilitation, neurological impairments, stuttering, swallowing disorders, mouth cancer and other audiological and speech impairments.

 

The Lymphedema Management Program, under the direction of Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapists, provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of lymphedema, including manual lymphatic drainage, multi-layered bandaging, compression, educational precautions to protect affected limbs and a home exercise program to maintain progress. Our certified team of therapists will provide you with treatment designed to reduce swelling and size, improve functional use, reduce pain and improve body image.

 

The Incontinence Program offers rehabilitation with proven results to address urinary incontinence. Caring professionals will provide you with the best possible solutions to regain control of your urinary functions, including biofeedback, muscle strengthening, gentle electric stimulation and patient education

SJH RehabCare offers a number of programs to educate employees about safe work practices and techniques to prevent workplace injuries. Teaching employees about the problems caused by incorrect posture, body mechanics and positioning helps them take responsibility for their own health and safety in the workplace, reducing workers’ compensation injuries and associated costs. Services are tailored to meet the individual needs of the company while striving for the maximum functional improvement of the employee.
